Last Day of CURB’s 2026 Annual Summer Fundraiser!

Take Action | Sep 04, 2026

As our 2026 Summer Fundraiser comes to a close, we want to express our deep gratitude to you all, the CURB community, for continually supporting a care not cages vision in California.

Today is the last day of our Summer Fundraiser and we are so close to reaching our goal. Make a gift today to fuel our advocacy!

As the prison industrial complex’s role as a tool of fascism becomes evident to all—and more deeply entrenched—it’s vital to support work to reduce California’s carceral footprint and invest in what is proven to keep our people safe.

Grassroots advocacy is essential to driving change, yet it’s often the hardest to fund. We rely on the generosity of individual donors like you to sustain our efforts.

Your support has already helped us achieve so much, including:

Winning the announced closure of the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC), building cross-wall power to expose issues reflected throughout the prison system. Check out this new op-ed by inside advocates, Mathew Witecki and Ryan Brennan, on the closure process of CRC.

Securing the passage of AB 137, preventing closed California state prisons from being reused for incarceration or immigration detention.

Building state-wide support for care first investments, mobilizing over 800 people across budget sectors to send 9,300 letters to state officials over the course of the advocacy season.

Defending Measure J and Care First investments in LA County, as well as fighting against local jail expansion.

Today is the last day to help us reach our fundraising goal. Please consider making a donation of any size—and look out for more opportunities to support the coalition’s work.

In many ways, our work has just begun. Together, we can continue to fight for the liberation we all seek.

With love,

Team CURB
