Support our Summer Fundraiser by texting 707070 to CURB or visiting this link! We are $7,500 away from our $10,000 goal and need your support TODAY!

Last Saturday (July 20th), CURB’s #CloseCAPrisons community gathered for a rally and press conference, demanding that Governor Newsom commit to closing at least 5 more state prisons, starting with the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) in Norco, CA.

Thanks to supporters like you, we were able to bring together a powerful coalition of voices advocating for change. Your contributions make it possible for us to organize, mobilize, and amplify the stories of those directly impacted by the prison system. Here’s what your support helped us achieve:

We heard from loved ones of people currently inside CRC and formerly incarcerated advocates who spoke truth to power, sharing their experiences inside CRC and the urgent need for its closure. Stay tuned for clips from these powerful speeches coming soon!

We engaged with Norco community members who shared their perspectives and listened openly to our demands for CRC's closure and reinvestment in the Norco community.

We received word that comrades inside CRC heard our chants. Richard Gonzales, an advocate incarcerated in CRC, wrote, “I saw and heard you guys at the window standing in solidarity together. My heart is full.”

Our fight to #CloseCRC and get our people free persists! We will not stop until these toxic institutions are permanently closed, people are reunited with their loved ones, and money from prison closures is shifted to impacted communities and towns where prisons exist.
