 It is no mystery what devastation mass incarceration, forced “treatment,” and defunding community services would cause for our communities — we’ve seen it.  

We have also seen the successes of shifting funding away from incarceration and towards peoples lives. Prop 36 aims to reverse Prop 47 which has redirected $816 million away from incarceration and towards K-12 education, preventative programs, survivor services, mental health, and drug treatment programs - which have served about 50,000 Californians reducing houselessness, recidivism, and unemployment.
