Take Action Today: Demand Releases and Human Transfers During Closure of CRC Norco
Join us in urging Governor Newsom to implement recommendations for releases and safe transfers throughout the closure process of the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) in Norco, CA.

The announced closure of CRC is a long-overdue step toward reducing California’s carceral footprint and shuttering toxic cages.
At the same time, CURB recognizes the ways in which CDCR’s past closure processes have been chaotic and destabilizing for folks inside. ‼️Closing a prison must never serve as added punishment for incarcerated people.
We urge Governor Newsom to act with urgency to prevent unintended consequences and reduce harm in this closure process. The following recommendations were crafted in direct collaboration with people incarcerated at CRC:
-Assess eligibility for release and develop reentry plans
-Provide choice and preparation time ahead of transfers
-Prioritize proximity to loved ones
-Ensure continuation of programming
-Mitigate harm within CRC during the closure process
