This year, our coalition:

- Conducted 11 outreach days at the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) prison, connecting with roughly 200 loved ones and bringing 93 into ongoing communication and organizing.

- Helped win the announced closure of CRC—the fourth California prison closed or slated for closure since 2020! As of July 29th, CRC has officially been emptied.

- Secured the passage of AB 137, preventing closed California state prisons from being reused for incarceration or immigration detention.

- Grew the Budget Advocacy Rolodex to more than 50 advocates from 40 organizations, helping more than 800 people send over 9,300 letters advocating for care not cages throughout the budget season.

- Expanded our work across migrant justice, racial justice, decarceration, and LA County, including supporting the fight against jail expansion and defending Care First investments.
