This community’s powerful advocacy is creating momentum in the Capitol! The California Legislature’s final version of the 2026-27 State Budget includes some of our coalition’s topline demands:

 -1 additional prison closure!!!

-Rejection of Corcoran “honor yard” expansion

Governor Newsom has until June 30th to sign the 2026-27 Enacted budget. Before then, we must continue demanding that Newsom officially commits to this proposed prison closure, investments in vital services, and further Corrections reductions!
