Budget2SaveLives (B2SL) is excited to launch our new Budget Advocacy Rolodex (BAR), a cross-sector hub where advocates can share budget priorities, coordinate messaging, and boost budget advocacy mobilizations throughout the California budget cycle.

What do we mean by cross-sector? 

The BAR will connect budget advocates from key movements such as housing, climate, immigration, education, criminal justice, and more to collaborate more deeply on our shared budget priorities. Now, more than ever, it is especially  important that we connect the dots between issue areas and budget subcommittees. If we can align our priorities and attack each issue collectively, we can create impactful change here in California.
 

What is the BAR?
The BAR  is designed to connect state advocates from various sectors throughout the 2025-26 California Budget Cycle. This system will allow advocates to collaborate around shared talking points, align priorities, and coordinate both virtual and in-person budget advocacy mobilizations. This list will consist of individuals/organizations from various sectors that are actively working on budget campaigns and/or have capacity to actively participate in the budget process. 

By joining the BAR, you will:

Gain membership to a listserv of budget advocates from across California working to transform the budget for their respective issue area to whom you can call on for support.

Gain access to a cross-sector contact list that ensures easy access to trusted individuals from different sectors who can serve as resources, credible messengers, or subject matter experts. 

Connect with budget advocates for strategic support, cross-sector collaboration, or amplifying specific advocacy efforts/calls to action.

Receive updates on upcoming budget hearings and budget mobilizations that you/your organization can participate in!
