Budget2SaveLives is excited to present the first installment of the year of our Budget Advocacy training series, “Budget Advocacy Breakdown!”

This series demystifies the California State Budget process, equipping community members and budget advocates with the tools to demand a budget that reflects the needs of all Californians. Each session offers an overview into different aspects of the state budget, including analyses of the proposed, May revision, and enacted budgets.

About the Training:

In November of 2024, we hosted our second statewide Budget Advocacy convening, bringing together over 60+ advocates from various sectors interested in transforming California’s budget! During this convening, we discussed strategies for how we can best collaborate to strengthen our abilities to impact change within the budget. There was a desire for a space to come together and share strategies for how we plan on tackling the budget at the start of the year.

This session will provide an overview of the contents of California’s proposed budget, as well as a space for advocates to share their budget priorities in hopes of fostering support for one another’s campaigns! Our analysis and this session will support advocates working towards a #Budget2SaveLives and those interested in collaboration and collective action to reshape budget priorities. We welcome attendees to come ready to strategize and share their own campaign updates.
