Radical Women Meeting
Budget Cuts Imperil Women
Why Sacramento Ignores Life-Saving Alternatives
Women, especially women of color, are hardest hit by the austerity measures enacted
by Democratic Gov. Brown and the California Legislature in March. The cuts target the
most vulnerable women and men: the poor, disabled, elderly and students. Better solutions
exist, like closing corporate tax loopholes and reducing prison expenditures. A panel addresses
how to prioritize need, not greed. Discussion follows; everyone is invited to share ideas.
