LA No More Jails

We hope that you can join us for a free, public community workshop we are hosting on the question of Los Angeles Jail expansion plans. As you are well aware, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department plans for new jail construction have drawn much public scrutiny and created a great deal of controversy in L.A. county. There has been little structured public input into the options being presented to the supervisors. Our organizations are preparing a public workshop where community members can share their vision for the county’s jail system. We will consider architectural and planning aspects of the various sites under consideration for jail projects as well as how these projects fit into the larger context of public services in the communities most impacted by the jail system. We hope that you can attend the event and if you would like to endorse please let us know. I have attached the Building a Healthy Free LA Flyer and Endorsement Form
